Lmfao. No wonder.
OT: These abominations were a rushed job and done poorly. Only amuses males who wear pink + females playing female toons. With the addition of males playing females. Talking about the cat ears ofc. The goggles are a different story
Edit: Karuro,Mentioning ancient egyptian history regarding cats on a video game is stupid. Kind of like your wall of text and this thread.

I hate to say it but I am lol'ing IRL that people are so over-dramatic over an ornamental, optional, free character decoration that cost them nothing to obtain and gives no advantage if worn.
You people saying "I WON'T LOG IN" or "I'MMA QUIT OVER DIS"... obvious trolling is obvious because no WAY can you be serious XD

There are no asura that wear goggles, I don't know why you made that connection.

If you're referring to the original he didn't wear goggles either.

Again, goggles a asuran would wear. The reason for the connection is that essentially they ARE mad scientists, or at least some of them and the goggles do appear to have a asuran flair to them.
And while the original Frakenstein may not have, it is pretty easy and fairly common to imagine him wearing goggles. Also as far as goggles and mad scientists, this

Every year we have the same boring discussion :
"QQ this year's hat sucks, but coming from Anet it doesn't surprise me
-No they don't, I like them
-Yes they do
-No they don't"
And thanks to Wintersday, we'll most likely see the same type of threads.
ANet has to create 2 hats for everyone. It would be totally dumb to think that they can create something everyone likes.
If you are not happy with those hats, well just say "I don't like them" and not dumb things like "QQ blablabla weaboos blablabla ANet sucks, this game sucks, I won't ever play it again beause of it blablabla".

Zinn wears goggles.
So does the Asura "Hero" that supposedly plays a prominent role in the story line of GW2.
Are we playing the same game, or are some of you just that unobservant?
There are cats in Guild Wars. There are more than a handful of quests and in game references TO cats that do NOT involve the Charr. There is a cat reward in GW2, courtesy of the HoM, that is based on one of Anets employees pets.
Again ... are we playing the same game here, or are you REALLY that unobservant?
Of course the whiners are going to whine, but please at least whine about something relevant.

Well I for one like the ears, they look really good on me and they are a mask/accessory that I'll wear even after Halloween (for once ). Still would love glowy devil horns (why am I so obsessed with glowy red devil horns?) but atm, cat ears get the thumbs up
The specs are quite poor tho, at least for my toon, can't see myself ever wearing them again, although I've seen some other professions that actually suited them

I like both. Two very different flavors, good for different styles of character appearance.
Who cares even if they aren't "conventional" Halloween stuff? We've had that for years. I wish ANet had more excuses to add general-use accessories to the game for free.

Well I'm liking the new addition this year. Unlike the ones for Halloween last year (didn't hate 'em just didn't really care for them) these two will actually get used. I only wish you could have both cat ears and the glasses together.

I like both the ears and the goggles. Nice to have something different. Every year we see the same complaints about the Halloween "masks" because some people like them and some people don't.

If the goggles looked better texture-wise, I'd excuse their lack of being on eyes.

love the ears. dont really like the goggles(they do look preety nice on my new warrior tho...)
and i think they go quite well with female eles.. makes them look like the cat women they are ^_^
so yea ppl can hate on the hats. i like the cat ears and if i figure out how to get a mad scientist looking going on ima put the goggles on them.
Maybe next year we can have giant burning devils horns completmetary with a devil staff. Or look at my avatar and get that costume for female eles.. plz...
p.s: that image with the male ele in pink..wearing cat ears.. will scar me for at least a couple more hours xD

I'm really pleased with these, though I DO wish they were dyable and (somehow) stackable with other masks/helms... I know the latter point would likely involve too much work, but it'd still be nice...
Honestly, the only previous Halloween masks I'd say are as good as (or better than) these would be the pumpkin crowns and facepaints (so sad I deleted my original Pumpkin Crown back in the day)... Everything else has either looked incredibly awkward or screams "Halloween" way too much to feel reasonably usable all year round... And I DESPISE hats that turn you bald.
It's really the same thing to me for a lot of the Wintersday stuff... People called last year's crests "lazy", but really, aside from the 2 sets of Grenth's horns, they are the only ones I'd ever consider wearing... While the Snow Crystal Crest WAS rather gaudy-looking, I've been using the Ice Shard Crest on 2 of my characters ever since and it looks far better than any of the other available head-pieces (as do the cat ears on my Monk).
I personally hope the trend on making actual "fashionable" masks/paints/accessories continues and that next year's Dragon Festival goes this route as well... No more of these tacky, huge, masks that look incredibly jarring and awkward nor any more "baldness hats" please.
